What Integrity Means to National Sign Team

The Crisis of Integrity in Today's Business Landscape

In a world where empty promises are often more common than genuine commitment, where many prioritize profit over principles, the question stands: Do you say what you’re going to do? And once spoken, do you walk that talk?

At National Sign Team, we don't just take integrity seriously – we consider it our very foundation.

A Test of Integrity

Our Story with a National Brand

It was one of those rare opportunities. The phone rang, and on the other end was a National Brand – over 150 locations nationwide. For most, landing such a client would be the dream scenario. However, as we dug deeper, asking more questions and understanding the full picture, it became evident that it might not be the fairytale partnership we had imagined.

The more questions we asked, the clearer the gaps became.

There were aspects of the project that made us doubt if we were genuinely the best choice for this client. The profitable path? Take the job, secure the payday, and figure things out as they come along. After all, who would pass up such an opportunity?

Yet, therein lied the true test of our integrity. Would it be right to accept a task when there were doubts about delivering the utmost value? Or should we be honest, giving them advice and perhaps guiding them towards a better-suited competitor, even if it meant passing up the project? For National Sign Team, the choice was clear. We chose integrity over immediate gain, ensuring that the client's best interest was at the heart of our decision.

Choosing Local Connections Over Overseas Options

The world of business never fails to surprise. Every so often, an opportunity arises that requires deep introspection and a re-evaluation of our values. Such was the case when we were approached by a lead we'd garnered through our consistent marketing efforts.

The client had several branches, seemed promising, and we were eager to collaborate. But there was an unusual catch – they only required our expertise for the installation. The fabrication? That was being sourced to China.

Unpacking the Overseas Proposition

Now, to be clear, sourcing products from abroad, including China, isn't inherently problematic. In a globalized era, many companies have efficiently integrated overseas products into their supply chain, ensuring quality and timeliness. However, at National Sign Team, our philosophy is deeply intertwined with local values.

We're not just an American company in name; we embody the very spirit of our nation. Our vast network isn't just made up of fabrication shops – it's built on relationships with trusted partners from every corner of the United States.

These workshops aren't faceless entities; they represent the very fabric of our communities. They're run by the dedicated dads coaching little league teams, by the hardworking moms juggling business and family. They’re not merely our business associates; they're our friends and neighbors, echoing the spirit of America in every sign they craft.

Integrity Over Opportunity

Faced with this situation, a dilemma arose. Should we embrace this unique project and adapt to a model we're not accustomed to? Or should we stay true to our commitment to local craftsmanship and the community? For us, the decision, though difficult, was anchored in our values. It was essential to stand up for what we believe is the heart and soul of our business. We decided to pass on the opportunity, not because overseas sourcing is inherently wrong, but because it isn't aligned with who we are.

At National Sign Team, our dedication to community, quality, and local partnerships isn't just a business model; it's a way of life. And sometimes, standing by our values means making tough choices. To us, that's the essence of integrity.
